Through private donations and fundraising, the University of Guelph engaged The MBTW Group as the Design Lead for the redevelopment and renovation of the Alumni Stadium’s existing natural turf sports field and cinder running track. Part of the WF Mitchell and Alumni Stadium Master Plan, the scope of work involved the design and construction of a new artificial turf field (FIFA 2 Star Certified) along with an eight (8) lane 400m IAAF Class 2 certified synthetic running track.

Home to the University of Guelph Varsity Football Team and Varsity Track meets, Alumni Stadium is now considered a state-of-the-art sporting venue capable of hosting major events and enhancing both campus and community pride. Since the completion of the renovation, the facility has been the home to numerous CFL events including being the home filed of the Hamilton Tiger Cats during the 2013 season.
