The award winning design of this full city block urban park provides a unique entrance to the historic Gibson House as well as providing a passive retreat for both the urban core and surrounding residential community. Gibson Park provides a metaphorical journey through time that brings the Gibson House history alive. The ‘contemporary’ Beecroft Plaza introduces the site history through its art component and invites the visitors to travel through the ‘gateway’ onto the ‘heritage walk’ which leads to the ‘traditional’ Gibson Plaza and ultimately to the historic Gibson House where ‘period accurate’ architecture, artifacts, characters and events are found.
